Are you an Art connoisseur or not really? Do you visit every museum you can during your travels or do you focus on more intense experiences? Whether you’re into art or not street art is during its rebirth. The rebellious spray paintings and autographs we saw and not always liked are now being replaced by murals. Oh so beautiful murals. Los Angeles is full of these beauties and I considered it a great place to start my new adventure with posing in front of random walls.
Before every trip I do a little digging. We were scheduled to be in LA for only 5 days and the list of places we wanted to visit seemed to get longer and longer. I had to pick and choose the best murals and organize our trip so that we can get them all without wasting too much time standing in traffic. It was a nightmare!
Anyway. There was a lot to choose from. The City of Angels is a street art central for incredible murals that can be spotted all over the town. In fact there are so many of them that the most girly ones created a “Girl Tour” – a group of murals located closely from each other with a little more famine vibe to them.
The problem with murals (especially in LA) is that once you start spotting them they pop up everywhere! I mean at one point we couldn’t drive a street without stopping for a quick snap in front of a funky looking wall. Thankfully we weren’t the only ones, so if you feel you will look silly waving your hands in front of an angel wings mural (which I found 4 but I bet there are many more of) you’ve got nothing to worry about.
My tips? Do the research! And do it well. As I mentioned you can spot a mural left and right in LA so you need to figure out the ones that interest and inspire you the most. Once you find the perfect wall plan your outfit ahead. You can always change in the car (or at least I did) but with the right dress or shirt the pic will look even better. Need inspiration?
